Benoît Le Bars, co-founder and managing partner of Lazareff Le Bars, represents his clients on all issues related to international arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods. He is regularly appointed president of arbitration tribunals, sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in the context of numerous international arbitrations.
Benoît Le Bars is an expert in the fields of international contract law and projects, international trade law. His expertise extends to OHADA law on which he published a book in 2011, Corporate Law and International Arbitration – Practice in OHADA Law. This treaty was updated and published in its English version (International Arbitration and Corporate Law: An OHADA Practice) in December 2013.
For several years, Benoît Le Bars has been very involved in Africa. His unequaled knowledge of OHADA law as well as his passion for the Continent, led him to create a quarterly magazine dedicated to business law in Africa, the MIDAA, as well as an annual conference, intended for all legal practitioners. affairs, the RIDAA, organized in different African jurisdictions.
Benoît Le Bars is also Professor of Law in the United States and in France. The Vermont Law School recently awarded him the title of Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Law, in recognition of the quality of his teaching.
Since March 2019 Benoit has been a Member of the Practice and Standards Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Benoît Le Bars began his career as an independent lawyer and consultant to major international firms.
