Jean-André Diaz, after a full and varied career in the energy sector, international contracts and maritime law, and having been Vice-President America & Europe in the Legal Department of TOTAL Exploration and Production, worked as a Consultant in Energy Law, Law of the Sea and Arbitration before joining Lazareff Le Bars in 2018 to support the activities of the law firm in its energy and international contracts cases.

In these capacities, Jean-André negotiated and enforced contracts in the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry in many parts of the world.

Jean-André has been and is presently involved in international arbitrations concerning contractual and investment matters taking place under various regulations and legal systems, as counsel and arbitrator.

Former President of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Oil and Gas Law Committee and the Corporate Counsel International Arbitration Group (CCIAG), he was then Chair of the Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law Section (SEERIL) of the IBA where he is still very active and involved in further events and projects.
